Overview

Budovan is a smart workplace platform for office buildings. It brings what a tenant does in a building into one app: booking rooms and desks, opening doors, paying for what they use, controlling the room they are sitting in, and navigating the building through its 3D model.

We work on the native mobile app, the iOS and Android application tenants carry with them through the building. It sits between the person and the physical building, so most of the engineering is integration work.

Inside the app

Access without a badge

Salto and HID sit behind one interface, so a tenant sees "open the door" rather than two vendors. Credentials live on the phone and in the mobile wallet, which removes the lifecycle of physical cards: issuing them, replacing lost ones, collecting them back when someone leaves.

Payments inside the booking

Stripe handles the money. Paid bookings such as parking, lockers, events and extra services are charged in the same flow that makes the booking, and payment history stays in the app instead of arriving as a separate invoice.

One booking flow for every resource

Desks, meeting rooms, events, lockers, bikes, shared cars and parking spots all run through the same flow. A tenant learns the interaction once and reuses it for everything the building offers.

The digital twin on a phone

The interactive 3D model works as navigation and wayfinding, and as a way to see occupancy, energy and environmental data in the space it applies to. From there a tenant can act on it through room and zone controls.

The building itself

Devices connected directly or through the BMS appear as controls in the app, alongside parking and EV charging systems. The phone becomes an interface to the building, not only to its booking calendar.

What we work on

What makes it hard

An app that opens doors is judged at the door. Access control has to work on the first tap, on a cold phone, in a hurry, and that bar sets the standard for everything around it.

The demanding parts of the work include:

• Supporting two access control ecosystems, Salto and HID, without exposing that split to the user
• Issuing and revoking mobile credentials as tenants join, move between floors or leave
• Taking payments inside booking flows without turning a ten second action into a checkout
• Keeping the digital twin's model of the building consistent with the booking system's, so a room means the same thing in 3D as it does in a list
• Driving parking, EV charging and BMS-connected devices that were never designed to be controlled from a phone
• Holding one interface together across buildings that are equipped differently, where a given module may or may not exist

Why it matters to us

Budovan is the kind of project we look for: real hardware, real money moving through it, and no room for a flaky release.

It shows our ability to:

• Build native mobile apps that control physical infrastructure, not just data
• Work with enterprise access control hardware (Salto, HID) and mobile wallet credentials
• Implement payments with Stripe in flows where speed matters
• Integrate digital twins, BMS-connected devices, parking and EV charging systems
• Ship reliably against building hardware that cannot be mocked away
